The Temple, the Jaguar & the Kung Fu Lesson

A new visual presentation at the visitor’s centre at Beit El in Samaria will be using my Jacob’s Ladder painting, among works by many other artists, including several very famous ones, I think. I’ll post pictures, and maybe video, of the actual thing when they have the opening (not sure when that’ll be)! Beit El is the traditional location of Jacob’s dream……Here is an overview of the location of the traditional site of Jacob’s dream near Beit El. It is held in veneration by Jews, Christians and Muslims.
In the meantime I’d like to share with you a video which deals with the same subject as Jacob’s dream: The connection between heaven and earth. It’s an interview with Paul Palnik, a cartoonist, artist and educator from Columbus, Ohio, who passed away earlier this week. I only came across him when I read his son’s beautiful and moving announcement of his passing. I think this video is one of the most touching, serious, honest, deep, and moving interviews about G-d I’ve seen. The simplicity and directness of Paul’s spirituality is humbling and very salutary.
