Short excerpt from Parshat Shemot

A man of the house of Levi went and married a daughter of Levi. The woman conceived and bore a son. When she saw him that he was good, she hid him for three months. When she could no longer hide him, she brought him a reed basket, smeared it with clay and pitch, placed the child into it, and put it into the marsh at the Nile’s edge.

His sister stood afar, to know what would be done to him. Pharaoh’s daughter went down to bathe, to the Nile, and her maidens were walking along the Nile. She saw the basket in the midst of the marsh, and sent her maidservant and she took it. She opened it, and saw him the child, and behold, he was weeping, and she had compassion on him, and she said, “This is of the children of the Hebrews.”

His sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “Shall I go and call for you a wet nurse from the Hebrew women, so that she shall nurse the child for you?” Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Go!” So the girl went and called the child’s mother.- Exodus Ch 2

You can learn much more about Shemot and all the other Torah Parshot at the excellent and extensive Chabad site here.

And here you can see my other Biblical art from the Book of Exodus.

The colours will probably look slightly different in the actual print than on your screen, but the print will be as faithful as possible to the original artwork. While being a digital print, none of this is an automatic process: I work with the same printer I’ve used for years, Hannah Kamil, and she does the very best work! Your print will be made specifically for you once you’ve placed your order. When I receive it from Hannah, I check that it’s truly up to standard. Then I wrap it carefully and send it by traceable, express post.
