This summer has been, so far, a difficult one. The war in Gaza is ongoing, and we’ve also had a war with Iran – a war which I’d been fearing, and preparing for, for quite a while. Below I’ve posted a short video from that particular episode. The current situation continues to be very disturbing, with truthful information very elusive.
The Iran war came on the heels of my mother passing away, following the onslaught of aliens in her body. That’s what I called the incurable cancer tumours. It was awful.
At the same time, our son had just begun his army service, which continues to prove difficult for him for various reasons.
Biblical Ceramic Sculpture
Thus, I haven’t had much time or inclination for art in recent months. I have, however, made a small ceramic ancient Middle Eastern Priest-King beating drums (above). Maybe they’re war drums, or maybe he just needs to make himself heard. In any case, when fired, this will be a very dark brown ceramic and will have highlights applied in 24-carat gold leaf. This figure is a continuation of my search for a contemporary ancient Biblical sculpture style. I hope it has something of a monumental presence.
New prints on paper
I’ve recently started working with a new printer based in the United States. This means I can now offer very high quality prints on fine art paper, as well as a complete framing service. This is in addition to the canvas prints which I’ve been offering for years. Shipping will obviously be a lot cheaper now – and quicker. I have, unfortunately, needed to increase the prices of the canvas prints. My prints on fine art paper are available from $66 (+ $10 FedEx delivery). Do get in touch for details of framing, if required.
Above: Video from the Iran war Am C’Lavie – A People Like a Lion Rises. This is looking north at Israeli interceptor rockets going up to hit Iranian incoming missiles. Just before this, there was a thicker stream being fired from an American warship to the west, which was more impressive, but which I didn’t manage to film. In fact, we should still have been in the safe room while this was going on, but it was right at the beginning of the war and I didn’t quite realise that this was all at a very different scale to the Hamas rockets. By the way – the sound is correct: There was an eerie silence at this point.
